Scanlated Loveless is Love.

but it downloads so slow. I set up my old cube (what is it, 6 years old now? does anyone know when apple released the cube?) but found that i was missing the power cable :[ and the cable for the external hard drive. so i'm stuck with this slow computer. i ran out of things to do while i waited for chapters to download (they take 7-8 minutes), so it's time for a pointless update! I'm gonna make some icons today. i should make some for [info]mushishi_yaoi but i'll probably just make a bunch for loveless. ohh, requests, anyone? i love requests. ask for whatever you want. ^^ chapter=done! time to go read.

this morning, instead of watching the senate/news like usual, i watched spongebob ^u^ and loved every second of it, especially the part which reminded me of Ginko [mushi-shi is eating my life 0_0]:
cops, outside spongebob's door: OPEN UP!!
spongebob: *FLAIL* [opens door... EYEBALLS FALL OUT]
cops: put your eyeballs back in son, we've got a few questions for you >:[

ginko, your eyesockets are so magical they will amuse me forever. i can see why nui and adashino love them so much.

I'm currently working on graphics for the new [info]mushishi_yaoi community, and wondering of anyone wants to give me advice as to wether I should use screencaps from the live-action movie or the anime. thoughts, anyone? i'm leaning towards live-action.

Pimp-age

For poor students like me who can't afford photoshop here is an awesome, 100% FREE photo-editing program created to imitate Photoshop. It's called GimpShop. I haven't used it a ton myself, but installation went smoothly and I've heard good reviews.

Marked Men and Assasins

  • Aug. 11th, 2007 at 3:32 PM
is the best game EVER. Even better than Dead In The Forest... Easily on par with Raging Torrent of Death and Carnage. The game is played on a sheet of visqueen (about the size of a tennis court), sprayed with water, soap, and mud. There are bales of straw on the visqueen too. No one knows why (maybe just to hold it down? it looks cool if you can jump over them and manage to stay upright and not slide off the visqueen).

Girls are the 'assasins' and guys are the 'marked men.' Everyone gets a piece of electrical tape (different colors for different teams) on their bicep (on skin, not clothing. It sticks better and hurts more when ripped off), and the marked mens' hands are tied behind their backs. Then, the game begins! The object is to rip off other teams' tape, while keeping your own intact. Marked men cannot fight back, they can only run for their lives. It's the assasins' job to "kill" them, as well as enemy assasins. You can also "assasinate" someone by pushing them off the visqueen.

Those who have been "assasinated" then move off the visqueen and throw muddy sponges at/spray squirt guns and hoses at those remaining in the game. Once 8 minutes is up, teams count their "survivors," and the one with the most wins.

Strategy: Violence is imperative to survive. Screaming stuff like "NOOO!" "DIEEE!!!" and in special cases, "ITEDAKIMASUUUU!!!" also helps. If you're not bleeding/bruised, you're not playing right.

Note: Real estate agents are slyyyyy mofos, don't even try to get them out. Also, don't take on a Samoan alone.

Hahaa.... I'm still sore. But that's partially from sprinting several miles, being a KGB agent trying to save Wendell and Gini from their kidnappers. Um.. it's a long story ^^; from a very long three days of bad coffee and sunburns... and mud... and blindfolds and 70 eggs on visqueen and swimming pools full of 3-week-old oatmeal and curdled milk at the bottom of which were prizes necessary to obtain points. It sounds disgusting, no? IT WAS. But it was SO EFFING FUN I LOST MY FACE. Just kidding, I still have it. It's this sunburned thing on top of my neck.

So, I admit, the last three days I've been at summer camp. Heh.. shut up, most of the people there were around 20 years old (although there were some junior high and high school aged kids, too). And no, no one sang kumbahya. The only anthem was the anthem of our teaaaamm!! GO TEAM KGB!! OLA! QUE PASA! KGB IS IN THE CASA!!! WHO ARE WE?? KGB! WHO ARE WE?!? KGB!! *cheers*

So I know I've been abusing you all, and promise to comment back and draw you pictures and make a fool of myself for your reading pleasure after I've had a looong shower. OWARI

The Revolution Continues!!

SO. after much deliberation, i've made a [info]mushishi_yaoi comm! because adagin is not the only pairing that needs love. there's nothing there yet, because i don't have the time to work on it today, but there'll be a layout & banners & stuff eventually. (probably around next tuesday). and now i have to go.

stole this from someone else's LJ, but it was too interesting to pass up, because I finally got the answer to something I've been wondering about - the kanji for Ginko's name! It's written in katakana in the credits, but since there is a history behind it, it does have a meaning...

So. The kanji? 銀蠱, gin kou.

The first was what I expected - silver. The second is what's really interesting. The kou here isn't 光, which I was kind of expecting (it means "light"), but 蠱, which at least I'd say is a pretty unusual kanji! It means either "rice worm", or "lead astray". HMM. Well. I have to say, the second meaning is very, very fitting. So fitting it's kind of painful how true it is.

So, yeah. Nui's name for the tokoyami is something like "silver one that leads astray"...
